English Championship
Who: Leeds v Sheffield Wednesday
When: Saturday 25th February, 12.30 UK time
Live on: BT Sport 1

Both Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday are intent on maintaining their current positions in the Championship top six and they now meet in a Saturday lunchtime kick-off at Elland Road.

Leeds were probably one of the in-form Championship teams for two months from mid-November onwards, as they suffered only one Championship defeat when losing at Brighton, and they also won five successive home matches on home turf. Subsequent results have been more moderate with three league losses sustained which includes Cardiff leaving Elland Road with all three points via a 2-0 win earlier this month. However, Leeds returned to winning ways in their previous home match when beating Bristol City 2-1, and they can be backed at 2.40 to win this derby game whereas a repeat of their 2-0 victory at Hillsborough during August is priced at 13.00.

Chris Wood opened the scoring when Leeds recently beat Bristol City while he has also netted the initial goal in two of the other three home victories for the team this year, and he is offered at 5.00 to be First Goalscorer in this match plus 3.75 to find the net in another home victory.

Odds of 5.00 are also available for Stuart Dallas to score his third goal for Leeds this month whereas free-kick specialist Pablo Hernandez is offered at 3.75 to find the net on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday will arrive at Elland Road aiming for a return to winning ways after suffering a surprise 2-1 home defeat by Brentford in midweek. The Owls had won all previous four league games this month and are priced at 3.10 to claim another victory whereas odds of 5.00 are being offered on Wednesday winning via a clean sheet having not conceded a goal in five of their six away wins this term.

Although Sheffield Wednesday won 1-0 at Newcastle on Boxing Day evening, they claimed just one further league victory from their next five matches and so added further firepower during the January window with the recruitment of Sam Winnall and Jordan Rhodes. Both strikers have netted one goal apiece since their transfers and are quoted at 3.50 and 3.00 respectively to find the net in this game.

Fernando Forestieri has been the more productive of the forwards in recent weeks with three goals netted in the last six matches, and he can be backed at 6.00 to score a goal in an away victory plus 6.50 to be First Goalscorer for the fifth time since early November.

In the corresponding game between the two teams last season, a 1-1 draw was the outcome and a repeat is offered at 5.50. No Leeds home game this term has featured more than three goals during normal time with a range of 2-3 available at 2.10. Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday are priced at 3.75 and 4.33 respectively to win via one clear goal with any team claiming a two-goal victory margin quoted at 4.50.
