Manchester United will be playing in their third tournament this week when contesting the final of the EFL Cup at Wembley with opponents Southampton enjoying a break from action since 11th February.

By winning 1-0 at St Etienne in midweek to complete a 4-0 aggregate victory, Manchester United confirmed their position among the final 16 teams for the Europa League and they also qualified for the FA Quarter Finals on Sunday by beating Blackburn 2-1 at Ewood Park. United have now won four successive competitive matches with just one goal conceded and are offered at 1.75 to win this final in normal time with odds of 2.62 also available for a victory via a clean sheet.

This final will be the seventh match this month for Manchester United and they have already netted eleven goals in their preceding six games. Although the attack could be weakened by the absence of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has opened the scoring twice during February, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to play and is quoted at 4.50 to be First Goalscorer for the second time in four games.

Ibrahimovic is also offered at 2.88 to net in a United win while Marcus Rashford can be backed at 2.88 to follow his goal from last weekend’s FA Cup tie win by scoring in this match. Furthermore, odds of 3.50 are available for Juan Mata to score both his third goal this month and in the current EFL tournament.

In contrast to their opponents, Southampton have played just two Premier League this month when beaten 3-1 at home by West Ham and then winning 4-0 at Sunderland. The Saints did beat Liverpool 1-0 in both legs of their EPL Semi-Final tie during January and as per their 1-0 victory against Manchester United in the 1976 FA Cup Final, another 1-0 win for Southampton is quoted at 11.00. A win in normal time for Claude Puel’s team can be backed at 5.00.

Shane Long netted the only goal for Southampton in two 1-0 victories last month and he also completed the scoring during the recent 4-0 win at Sunderland with odds of 8.50 available for the Irish international to be Last Goalscorer in this final and 7.50 to net a win for the Saints.

Recent signing Manolo Gabbiadini is expected to lead the Southampton attack and he can be backed at 7.50 to be First Goalscorer for the third successive game while the Saints are offered at 2.50 to score exactly 1 goal in this contest.

Southampton are also available at 7.00 to win this game via one clear goal with Manchester United priced at 3.50 and 4.50 for one and two goal winning margins respectively. Odds of 3.00 are also being offered on United scoring in both halves for the fifth time this month. The Saints can be backed at 21.00 to win in extra-time with United quoted at 11.00 for the reverse result.
